Pine Bunting, Fair Isle, 11th October 2016

In what was a record year for Pine Buntings Fair Isle scored with no less than four different individuals. The first, that shhown below, was found on the 11th October and settled at Quoy. Remarkable form there on in numbers increased near daily at the same croft and on 17th October I saw three birds there within seconds of each other.

A fourth and final bird appeared in the Bulls Crop strip on the 22nd October, a nice male.

The first bird, pictures here, was the most exiting, running around trying to pin it down so I have left this as the only one of those present represented here with photos.
