Winter and Summer Bonepatre's Gulls

Prince's Park, Eastbourne, East Sussex 9th February 2013

Super close bird that clearly didn't like being around the swans and larger gulls when bread was being thrown out but would often drift in when things were quieter. Low light didn't help today in getting photos but the results are not to bad, note the difference in light conditions on some of the images when I moved from once side of the lake to the other.

Bonaparte's Gull - Cross Ness, London 7th July 2013

Although not as confiding as the Eastbourne bird it was the first summer plumaged Bonaparte's Gull I have seen in the UK and a relatively short drive from home. It certainly enlivened a rather dull local birding spell.
