After a gap in 2015 I was back in Israel and birding the fish ponds
on the Beit She’an Valley, the Dead Sea region and the Arava with friend Ian
from Norfolk. The fish ponds were absolutely loaded with birds whilst the Arava
was a little on the quiet side of migration but there was still good birding to
be had for a little effort. It was still a hugely enjoyable trip but I did note
that it was a little more difficult to get sharp images, this could have been a
camera/equipment issue or the environmental conditions this year, more heat
haze than usual.
