Way back in 2008 I took a short 10day spring break to the Upper Texas Coast at High Island. The furthers I went afield was to Brazos Bend State Park on the South West Side of Houston but other than that it was all High Island Woodlots, Anahuac, Bolivar and Sabine Woods areas. There was just so much going on that despite limiting myself to the relatively small area there was more than enough to keep me happy. Just great birding.
