This trip covered both north and south islands over the course of 4 weeks. Most of this was for birding but some general sight seeing and tourist stuff was done, well you have to see the scenery don't you.
Most of the targets were seen but overall the albatross trips out of Kaikoura were the absolute nuts and I done several days of back to back trips, seeing numerous albatross species at arms length is one of the top wildlife experiences I have ever had. On top of that there were stacks of seabirds, endemic landbirds, wonky billed plovers, leaping cetaceans, comical penguins, weather, landscapes and Kiwi's. Magical place.
