White-throated Sparrow - Barcombe Cross, West Sussex - April 2021

Been a long time since I have twitched anything, probably a couple of years but the White-throated Sparrow that had over wintered in West Sussex was a little bit to much to resist ince Covid restrictions were eased.

The bird was stunning and my first in the UK since the Fagbury, Suffolk bird in 1992. It was enjoyable to watch as it made short visits to the picnic table which had seed placed out for it. Also as enjoyable was to hear it's melancholy song come out of the small wood behind the table.

Superb bird.
