Israel - January 2020

I short four and half day trip to Southern Israel brought me three of my four hoped for lifers; Finsch's Wheatear, Kurdish Wheatear and Saker whilst we dipped on Pallid Scops Owl despite extensive searching for lingering birds.

The trip also gave best views to date of some notable species, such as the point blank in your face views of Sinai Rosefinch at Amrams Pillars but perhaps the over riding memory were the Wheatears with excellent views of 7 Species: Finsch's, Kurdish, Isabelline, Mourning, Hood, White-crowned Black and Desert Wheatears whilst we also saw Basalt Wheatear which is a contender for a future split thus number eight of the trip.

The weather wasn't the best so some photography had to deal with heavy overcast days but all in all it was an excellent trip.

A full trip report will be posted on Clouderbirders in due course.
